Keimishia Holloway

Co-Founder, MSN, PMHNP-BC

The veteran population at Hampton Veterans Affairs in Hampton, VA is currently being served by Keimishia Holloway, PMHNP-BC. In 2020, she received her bachelor's degree in nursing from Hampton University's School of Nursing. At that time, Keimishia was leading the charge with COVID as a newly-minted RN. She has received experience in patient care areas such as inpatient medical-surgical unit, outpatient surgery,  the primary care setting, inpatient psychiatry, and mental health transitions of care services. Strengthening and restoring stability within mental health was her ultimate goal. She passionately advocates for cultural diversity, and firmly believes that everyone deserves access to impeccable mental and physical health care.

Keimishia received a degree in nursing science at the master's level. With a passion for helping others, she works as registered nurse and a mental health nurse practitioner. For mental health care, Keimishia has shown to be an expert in bridging the gaps.
Invariably, she works to reduce the likelihood of recidivism among our stigmatized community with mental health challenges. Giving patients the best care possible and making sure they get the most amazing results are two of her most important goals in medicine and psychiatry. We are taking intense action to address the persisting gaps and improve access to care, driven by sanctYOUary's mission. A medical professional for more than fifteen years, Keimishia is well-versed and loves her role. With over fifteen years of experience in the medical field, Keimishia is very knowledgeable and adores her position. In her community, she will continue to personalize her treatment plans for each patient.

Adriana M. Jones

Co-Founder, MSN, PMHNP-BC

Adriana Jones is a highly skilled and compassionate board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, a graduate of Old Dominion University, and a proud Navy veteran. With a strong foundation in psychiatric nursing practices and principles from Old Dominion University's graduate program, Adriana brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her practice, complemented by her service in the Navy.

As a veteran, Adriana's dedication to providing patient-centered care is further enhanced by her military background, instilling in her a strong sense of discipline, commitment, and resilience. Specializing in working with children/adolescents and individuals with addiction and psychotic disorders, Adriana founded SanctYOUary on the principles of mind, body, and community, reflecting her commitment to creating a secure and supportive environment for her patients.

Adriana firmly believes that mental health care should be a fundamental right accessible to all individuals, regardless of their resources. Active in her community and a member of the American Psychiatric Association, Adriana's unique blend of military experience and psychiatric expertise allows her to offer holistic and compassionate care to those in need.

Ronald Mejzak, DO, FASAM
Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine

Dr.Mejzak is a board-certified, fellowship-trained addiction medicine specialist.He started his career as an anesthesiologist and practiced for nearly 20 years before becoming an addictionologist. Dr. Mejzak witnessed the devastating effects of the opioid epidemic and the continued stigma associated with addiction and felt compelled to help. He completed a one-year fellowship in addiction medicine at the University of Florida.

 

TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY:

“I believe everybody deserves the highest quality, evidence-based care for their disease. Make no mistake about it – addiction is a disease, like diabetes or high blood pressure, that CAN be treated. It is not a ‘choice’ or a ‘moral failing’ and deserves the same compassionate care.” Dr. Mejzak enjoys spending time with his family and four children. He is an avid outdoorsman and loves to fish whenever he can.

Dr. Craig Coleman, D.O

Dr. Coleman is a distinguished healthcare professional operating out of his primary office in Suffolk, Virginia, and extending his reach to a secondary location in Danville, Virginia. With a decade-plus of experience under his belt, Dr. Coleman has cemented his reputation in the healthcare landscape.

One of Dr. Coleman's hallmark specializations is family medicine, a field where he brings his extensive experience and depth of knowledge to the fore. His journey in the medical profession started in earnest in 2012 when he earned his medical degree from the prestigious Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine.Today, Dr. Coleman continues to provide exemplary healthcare services, reflecting a deep-seated commitment to patient wellness, and a dedication that's been a constant throughout his impressive 11-year career

Yasmeen
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

I am Yasmeen with sanctYOUary offering individual therapy that focuses on the whole person, their environment, and their natural supports. By education and experience, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been in the field for nine years in outpatient therapy, residential settings, and crisis stabilization. I have extensive experience working with individuals managing depression, suicidal thoughts, and self-harming behaviors. I began working in the field of mental health and substance abuse after noticing how minorities have been misunderstood and misdiagnosed. My core belief as a therapist is that the client is the expert with the skills to improve their circumstances. However, they may benefit from the support of a therapist. I often use cognitive and behavioral restructuring, crisis intervention, and holistic practices like yoga in sessions.

Jackie
Counseling Resident

Jackie, a counseling resident, is passionate about working with children and their families. She has worked in inpatient facilities with adolescents experiencing a variety of mood disorders and with children with disabilities in school settings.

Her passion for working with children has been reinforced by her support of her spouse during his 20 years in the armed forces. During this time, she served as a Family Readiness Leader throughout deployments, functioning as a point of contact for the families of the service members. Her interactions with other families have enhanced her knowledge of many cultures, which she can now share with her patients.

Jackie offers a supportive approach to counseling by utilizing techniques such as Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive-Behavior Therapy, and Mindfulness. Her goal is to create a safe, nurturing, and encouraging environment where she may accompany you on this journey to discover emotional peace and healing through what you have experienced.

Monica
Group Counselor

Hi, I'm Monica with SanctYOUary! My role here is the group counselor. I lead Dialectical Behavior Therapy groups to equip my clients with tools to cultivate mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. I also offer therapeutic writing groups that use clients' inherent creativity to unlock their healing and true potential. I chose this profession because I believe in the power of safety and connection that I help provide as a group leader.My main goal for my clients is, as the creator of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Marsha Linehan puts it, to help clients build a life worth living. I'm here to foster skill-building that empowers clients to have a higher quality of life. I also want to help people experience the transformative power of mindfulness. I find solace in writing, poetry, and art. I'm enthusiastic about employing these creative outlets asa therapeutic approach.

Your well-being is Lisa's priority, and she is committed to providing you with a safe, non-judgmental space where you can be your authentic self. The goal is for you to feel validated and ultimately empowered to confront the challenges in your life. Lisa is already proud that you've taken the step to find a therapist, and she's honored that you're considering her. It's her priority to share and teach you techniques and interventions for living the peaceful life you deserve.

Lisa specializes in working with adults, college students, teenagers, children, and working professionals. Her expertise covers anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, OCD, ADHD, anger issues, substance abuse, relationship issues, grief, multicultural issues, immigration, self-esteem issues, bipolar, schizophrenia, and other psychotic disorders.

She earned her Bachelors at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA, and her Masters in Social Work, Clinical/Mental Health track at the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. Her experience includes Harm Reduction, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Group Therapy, Culturally Sensitive, Family Systems, Person-Centered, Psychoanalytic, Reality Therapy, Strength-Based, Structural Family Therapy, Trauma Focused, Play Therapy, and Crisis intervention.

Kayla Fields, MSW
Counseling Resident

Kayla believes that therapy can be a valuable tool to help manage all of life's stressors. When we hide away our emotions, we often find ourselves overwhelmed and unable to cope. It's Kayla's goal to help you in managing the feelings we often tuck away. The journey is not always easy and she aims to help teach you the skills to navigate whatever might have come your way.

Kayla will often take on a direct approach and believes in meeting you where you are. Her goal is to provide you with a safe and non-judgmental environment where you can be your authentic self. Her therapy leans on aspects of CBT, DBT, Trauma-Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, and a strength-based approach. Kayla also values psychology and teaches about how the brain responds in difficult situations. Her expertise covers anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, ADHD, anger, relationship issues, bipolar, and other disorders.

Kayla earned her Bachelors and Masters in Social Work from Indiana University in Indianapolis, IN. She has a background providing individual, family, and group therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. She also has experience working in child welfare, behavioral health, and outpatient therapy services.

Dana
Certified Yoga Teacher (RYT)

Dana Roux is a passionate yoga instructor who currently resides in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia. At age seven, her father started practicing yoga as an addition to his blood pressure medication. This is when she first encountered yoga. She loved to meditate and would frequently practice with her father.

Yoga was not often done until 2021 when it became a common way to deal with and get over both physical and mental ailments. Dana describes how yoga helped her heal in ways that are beyond explanation. She has always had a strong love for people, education, and learning. Due to her training and experiences, she is now able to share her love for teaching.

Her preferred method for both teaching and practicing is deliberate, gentle movement that is centered on the breath. She advises her students to take it slow and pay attention to their bodies' needs. Dana aspires to help people achieve a profound connection between the mind and body by means of the spiritual practice of yoga.

Tamira
Certified Personal Trainer (CPT)

Tamira holds a wealth of expertise in establishing safe, effective, and customized fitness programs adapted particularly to each client's stage of pregnancy, postpartum, and so forth. She ensures that every exercise program is made to assist the mother's evolving body and promote the greatest possible wellness for both mother and child.

In addition to her wealth of knowledge, Tamira understands the pressures a woman faces before and after a pregnancy as a mother. She delivers a holistic approach to pre and postnatal fitness since she also recognizes the value of attending to her client's emotional and mental health.

Tamira wants to participate in safe antepartum and postpartum exercises in this program, incorporating mental wellness and making modifications as needed. Her goal is to give women a voice during this time of profound change in their lives.
